Melbourne’s first away trip of the season to the newly promoted Worksop. With a few changes in the team from last week, Chris Fulton came in at fly half to replace Euan who broke his thumb in the tiddlywinks championship, Matt Brown in for Dan Britton and Bompy in for a dropped Keir! Ian Lucas was the stand in captain and warned the players before the game that this was a potential banana skin and it was! Worksop 10 Melbourne 7!

Was this the Semi Final or Quarter Final of the Derbyshire Shield, who knows? What we did know was that Belper were at Cockshut Lane determined to show Melbourne why they had won the league and what to expect for next season.

Melbourne hosted East Retford in the final league game of the season. Retford had beaten Melbourne earlier in the season and were one place above them in the league, the winner of today's game could claim 4th place.
Euen Holden made a couple of changes in the pack with Keir Biggins and Pete Birchall being replaced by Bob Stowell and Nigel Breakwell, Dave Middleton replaced Pete Ilott on the wing.
