This local derby was quite evenly contested for the first twenty
minutes of the game with both sides defending strongly. It was probably
with twenty minutes gone that the game saw its first scrummage and the
difference between the two sides became apparent.

be particularly proud of. Tupton lacked the quality of the Melbourne
team (Especially in the backs) but Melbourne failed to stamp their
authority on the game especially up front.
