After a lay of of several weeks recovering from world cup glory, the 3rds were back on the road. Unfortunately our full rugby prowess and comittment was'nt dropped off to us until 15 minutes into the game by which time we had conceded 3 poor converted ties.

Match Report

After a brief conversation which summed up to dig in or f*** off, the lads responded.

We all then showed what a 3rd team could do and started to tackle for our lives and run the ball for 2 well worked tries. The first from midfield, where what can only be described as rugby brilliance occurred. Zach Lucas with exquisite precision placed the ball on a plate for Rob the flying winger to touch down.

The second try Ducky threw a dodgy dummy then fell over the try line!!

Special mention to the referee officiating only his 13th match, must be congratulated on his birthday present, a shiny red leather notebook and card wallet which he let 1 Ashby and 2 Melbourne players inspect at close quarters.A blight on a spirited and hard game of rugby that did not need a Hitler dressed in bloody Australian gold to ruin with poor decisions, and an attitude which made me believe his birthday present was early and should not of been opened until the 25th of this month.

Zach (unlike my Guiness i'm as bitter as hell) Lucas
