Melbourne were on the back foot for most of the first half. Long Eaton’s pack dominated possession and set pieces. Committed defense and clever kicking by Kev Brown, playing Flyhalf, kept Melbourne in the game.

Match Report

Melbourne needed to add some control up front so bought on Paul Macer at Open side. This changed the game allowing Melbourne’s back row to slow possession and get a foothold in the game.

In the second half Melbourne scored twice too even the scores but couldn’t hold out and in the last minute of the game Long Eaton’s Flyhalf barged his way through 6 tackles to score in the corner.
