Juniors, Minis and Girls

Melbourne RFC Minis and Junior Section was established in 1990 and played as a U12s team of 15 lads.

The section grew through the years to reach around 100 children by the turn of the century.

Today we are proud to boast of 250 children spread across 12 teams including our Minx girls teams.
It is the determined effort of the various unpaid coaches, assistants, mums and dads which has allowed us to grow to our present size.

We are the first club in Derbyshire to gain the RFU Seal of Approval and this has assisted us in managing our club in a professional manner. 

Our teams have won Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire and Derbyshire (NLD) competitions and have been runners up across other age groups.

We try and take our players on tour each year to give them a broader horizon of the sport and the event is eagerly awaited each end of season by the Minis.

A strong link has been forged with Chellaston school  and to this end, the Section now play all of their home matches at this venue.   We are also very pleased to have the use of our Training Centre within the grounds.
