Having lost earlier in the season to NH this was seen as a
game that , if we could win, proved we had made real progress in the quality of
our rugby . Part of our tour to Northampton Saints on Saturday , meant we
hadn't had much sleep after the party the night before - not helped by the
clocks going forward too!

length of Derbyshire and arrived in what felt like a tropical rainstorm - we
were met by not one, but two teams who wanted to play the mighty
Melbourne Minxes -Buxton RFC and Waterloo RFC , who had travelled all the
way from Merseyside ......

Report by player Ellie Marsh: The match against Glossop didn't get off to a great
start with the Minxes battling into the rain. However, this didn't stop the
team and the minxes deserved the win 100%.

Going into this our 7th match of the season the Minxes were feeling a
little rusty in the warm up after an extended Christmas break. But the
confidence of the team was boosted by the availability of 3 out of 4
girls who have recently been selected to play for the East Midlands
Regional side.

The Angels gave us a lesson in hard tackling and how
to drive a player into the ground and how to scrummage.But despite that the
minxes are learning in every game and know that if you want to play rugby at
this level you have to be ready to take the knocks and that is exactly what
they did .The
final result 32 :17 .Our best result of the season....
