This item which provides important guidlines should be read by all parents and players participating in the U10's for this season.
Playing Charter MRFC U10's Key Parent = Parent / Guardian [or someone nominated by the parent]
GENERAL
1. Children need to be suitably attired - Shirts tucked in, boot laces 'double tied', socks taped up, club kit ...etc.
2. Inclusive Playing Policy - All children will play in 'regular' matches during the season (competitive) , U10's do not turn away any child as not being good enough albeit safety is the primary concern.
3. Tournament Playing Policy = Because of our regular season playing policy we select on merit for tournament / festival squads who will represent MRFC across the region. NOT ALL PLAYERS WILL BE SELECTED
4. Remaining on site to supervise their childs behaviour and injury/well being is preferable (if parents wish to leave the site they should appoint another parent to carry out this role) during both Training and Matches.
5. Respect for officials and referees is paramount, all parents must familiarise themselves with and adhere to the ' Parents code'
6. Parents to supply their child with his/her own ENERGY drink (sharing is discouraged)
7. If a Player arrives without his/her medication / inhaler then the parent MUST stay in close proximity in order to deal with any issues that arise from not having the medication/inhaler, .
should the parent leave the playing / training area then the player may be asked to stand out.
8. Coaches wish to concentrate on skill development and team play/ tactics rather than tie laces, hand out drinks, correct unruly or over boisterous behaviour
put on waterproof's, remove layers of clothes, or even take their child to the toilet (or the nearest bush) if they need it !
9. RFU recommends that all players wear a mouthguard, if a player attends without it then the parent has given implied consent for the child to participate in contact sessions &
coaches will allow players to participate. If a parent doesn't want this u10's policy to apply to them then they must inform the u10's manager in writing prior to such an instance occurring.
TRAINING
1. SUNDAYS - Arrive at 10.00am to check/put on all equipment - Warm up starts at 10.15am Training starts at 10.30am - please be prompt !
2. Training will end approx 12noon (11.45 in attrocious weather), unless we are late starting.
3. Thursday training - Every week commencing 18/9/09 , warm up starts 0645 prompt, finish 0745 prompt, venue = Cockshut lane, Melbourne

MATCHES
1. Unless advised otherwise Matches will kick off at 10.30am, therefore we will always meet (to warm up etc ) at 10.00am PROMPT at the venue (irrespective of whether 'home' or 'away') please.
2. Match shirts, and club shorts and club socks should be worn, shirts should be tucked in and socks pulled up and taped / tied.
3. Directions to away venue's can be obtained from the opposition 'website' ( any problems then contact team Manager on the day before ! ).
Cancellations
1. Cancellations that are known about before the Sunday morning will be communicated by EMAIL. Cancellations on the morning of the Match will be communicated by TEXT (Yes we occassionally get them!) .
2. Other age groups may cancel however that should not be taken as being the same for the U10's (await notification from u10's management)
3. If you do not hear from me otherwise, then it is on !
FESTIVALS
1. Packed lunches and energy drinks are required.
2. Warm and waterproof clothing / gloves / umbrella's are required ( I may bring a gazebo for shelter but please don't rely on this, as it is not always possible ).
3. Most festivals/tournaments involve more than one match - up to 6 ! , so bring plenty of rehydration liquids (especially in hot weather)
4. There will be gaps between matches, and the players should have (and put on ) warm clothing
5. In between matches, parents are responsible for the behaviour of their player
6. If parents take players to other parts of the site (to watch other siblings etc) then the player should be back ready to commence warm up 20 mins before the next match kicks off.
TOUR
U10's will be invited to come on MRFC Tour - details to follow. Budget for £120 each and add the dates of the 24th, 25th & 26th of April 2008 in your planning (yes possibly two nights!) - the kids will love it, I guarantee
how can parents help
1 Practice passing and catching at home (increase distance, both hands, speed and spin .. etc) - confidence with the ball will mean your child enjoys their training more.
2. Read all communications, and please reply promptly when asked to - it helps me greatly
3. Sponsorship is always appreciated, does your business or your employer entertain sponsorship? Trust me ....No offer refused !
4. inform Steve [Manager] or Kevin if any contact details change, ie email / mobile / address / players medical needs (No, we aren't clairvoyant and we all benefit from clear communication) .
5. MUMs (and / or dads not involved in coaching ! ) Every age group is required to Join the Catering & Car park ROTA, with full participation it's once a season per person.
A volunteer club only works if we have volunteers - please
