U-13's Match Report

Melbourne v Cirencester on 19.04.08

Score 26-43

This match was played in good conditions over two halves of 25 minutes, against a touring side.

The first half was fairly even with both sides attacking and defending well. Cirencester were first to score a converted try. We replied almost straight from the kick off, the ball secured for Jack Pearce to run thro' and score a try which he converted. Despite some of our best tackling of the season and some excellent driving, Cirencester scored two more unconverted tries, before Lewis Hammond ran in to score just before half time, duly converted by Jack P.

The second half started similar to the first with Cirencester scoring a converted try before good driving by the forwards led to Lewis H. driving over for his second try, again converted by J.P. There then followed a poor spell from us which saw the visitors score three tries, two of which were converted. We then put on some pressure which saw Jack P. held up on the line, following an excellent kick and chase, before Lewis H. ran in for his hat-trick of tries which he unfortunately failed to convert.

Another excellent effort boys against a very well organised touring side!!!!!

Moment of the match an excellent catch under pressure from Julian Raine in the unfamiliar role to him of fullback!!!!!!
