Melbourne Under 14's decided to see if what Coach Nick was saying about the west country and their rugby was true or if he was just the moaning person they thought he was so they went to Bath on tour this year.

Friday saw a nice drive down to Bath with Pip Day, Tom Kirkham and a few others conducting the DISCO sing along. Once the team were there tea, brief and bed were on the Itinerary (I didn't put sleep as they got into bed and didn't sleep) just ask Elliott Tew. Saturday morning started with a little tour around Bath popping to the Royal Cresent to name but one before a short walk to the Recreational Ground to meet some of the Bath coaching team.

The team were put through their paces with Tom Waite-Walker and Tom Dring winning money can't buy Bath balls before going into the Premier Lounge for dinner, cooked by the team chief and saw Rich Kirkham pop up twice. After the food was gone the lads were visited by Chris Goodman and Michael Lipman, who was only one more question from Malc Bailey away from showing us just how to tackle.

After a little rest the team popped to the Bath Leisure Centre to play "some form" of football and basketball allowing Steve Mitchell and Jacob Wright show of some silky skills whilst Zach Shannon proved his was all man playing bare footed.

The players finished up the night watching a dvd before going to bed (all those who managed to stay awake through the dvd that is) and to the coaches surprise Eddie Webb, Max Chetwyn Aaron Beardsley and Ashley Sparkes actually managing to go to sleep!!!!!!

The Sunday morning saw all the lads packed and ready to go looking as smart as we've seen them all season (even Zack Lysaczenko and Robbie Awbery in polo shirts). The team played Bath B's and Keynsham B's Barbarians and what a game it was, seeing Arun Purewal scoring a hat-trick of trys in a 38-10 win.

The game was celebrated in a respectful manor, who am I kidding Scott Bennett (our disciplined Captain) and Will Bailey led the ATTACK on coach Nick Woodland soaking him with water before another DISCO chant.

All in all we as coaches hope the lads enjoyed the tour and would like to thank them for being fantastic ambassadors for the club.
