on Sunday 27th April the boys picked up the Syston 7’s winners Cup.

Cainy comments in his write-up..."next stop NLD 7's".

However, a long the way, on Sunday 27th April the boys picked up the Syston 7's winners Cup.  (The invite only came through last Thursday).

This was a much better "training session" than had been planned.

Having beaten  Oadby "B" 49-0; Melton 37-5Syston 24-12, the lads went on to win the semi final against a big Hinkley team.    They were three tries down at half time but mustered all their strength to pull back in the second half seven minutes.   A converted try sealed the match 21-19.

The final was against a very "speedy" Oadby "A" side which had blown away all their opposition in the prelims.   Melbourne went in at half time with what appeared to be a comfortable three try lead.   However, Oadby fought back in the second half but Melbourne kept the pressure on to win 29-21.

This was no easy pushover Festival.   We were playing the top clubs in Leicestershire.   The lads really fought for this silverware and deserved to win it.   Their determination was awesome.

A very long day, but a superb result.   Well done lads.

Having "conquered" Leicestershire....next stop "NLD" on 11th May.

Regards

Crawf (kidding on that he is Cainy)
