Melbourne Under 15 v Newark Sunday April 20 2008
The boys
were in excellent form throughout this encounter against a hard working
opposition who never gave up at any point despite this.
Tries from
Adam Cartwright, Pagey (2) and the Roominator had us off to a flyer. Coupled
with two excellent conversions from Jack Fisher this led to us reaching the
break 24-0 to the good. Newark
started the second half well and indeed got a try back early on only to be put
back in their place by two very different tries from Cainy. This was a super
all round performance and as we approach the end of the season the boys
really have shown what they are capable of and have got stronger as the
campaign has progressed.
Compliments
to Pagey Senior for his refereeing which really was second to None. None has,
unfortunately, been struck off the RFU list but if you wish to sign the
petition to keep Guy on it you can put your name to the online petition at the

. I am also duty bound to comment upon our new Touch Judge , namely Mr. Topley,
whose technique in possession of the rigid and similarly very plastic but
exclusive MRFC Standard Issue Touch Judge Flag has already assumed legendary
proportions. Even more legendary, however, was the fact that his Mrs Topley ran
it with him - what a together couple eh? Puts the rest of us to utter shame eh?
Who needs candlelit dinners, weekends away or bunches of flowers when you can run
the line with the Old Man?
